Multi‐Material 3D Microprinting of Magnetically Deformable Biocompatible Structures

چکیده
Two-photon polymerization (2PP) allows precise 3D printing at the micrometer scale, and by associating it with magnetic materials, creation of remotely actuatable micro-structures. Such structures attract a growing interest for biomedical applications, thanks to their size biocompatibility some photoresist materials. Gelatin methacryloyl (Gel-MA) is one such material, can be used create physiological scaffolds cell culture. Here, physico-chemical properties two resins are exploited, first being silica-based hybrid polymer, OrmoComp, second Gel-MA-based hydrogel. A 2PP manufacturing protocol defined designed print both materials in succession as single structure, which then linked neodymium-iron-boron (NdFeB) bead actuation. By this combination, magnetically deformable culture substrate created study cells an environment that mimics soft, curved, dynamic tissues vivo. The structure actuated via external field bends back forth along its longest axis. Lastly, preliminary trials conducted showing proliferation on structures.

Multimaterial magnetically assisted 3D printing of composite materials
3D printing has become commonplace for the manufacturing of objects with unusual geometries. Recent developments that enabled printing of multiple materials indicate that the technology can potentially offer a much wider design space beyond unusual shaping. Here we show that a new dimension in this design space can be exploited through the control of the orientation of anisotropic particles use...
متن کامل3D Printed Multimaterial Microfluidic Valve
We present a novel 3D printed multimaterial microfluidic proportional valve. The microfluidic valve is a fundamental primitive that enables the development of programmable, automated devices for controlling fluids in a precise manner. We discuss valve characterization results, as well as exploratory design variations in channel width, membrane thickness, and membrane stiffness. Compared to prev...
متن کامل3D Deformable Hand Models
We are interested in producing a 3D deformable model of the human hand, for use in a tracking application. Statistical methods can be used to build such a model from a set of training examples; however, a key requirement for this is the collection of landmark coordinate data from these training examples. To produce a good model, hundreds of landmarks are required from each example; collecting t...

Multimaterial 3D printing using microfluidic printheads specifically designed for seamless switching between two visco-elastic materials "on-the-fly" during fabrication is demonstrated. This approach opens new avenues for the digital assembly of functional matter with controlled compositional and property gradients at the microscale.
